Leading off from a strong – but losing – playoff series in 2011 against number one Chicago Bulls, the Indiana Pacers have come roaring back to start the 2011-2012 season. The team is experiencing its best starting record in the previous eight seasons, but are still struggling when playing the more talented teams in the league.
But the Magic are a fearsome adversary that are 11-5 on the season at this point. Also, recent history is clearly favoring Orlando. The Magic have defeated the Pacers in Indiana in every one of the previous three meetings between the two.
Both organizations come into this game with a 7-3 record over their previous ten contests. The Pacers have a 5-0 home record so far, and the Magic are 5-3 away from home. Look for Orlando to make a surprisingly strong start after their disastrous 87-56 blowout to the Boston Celtics a few days ago.
